how appropriate
If you've read my last blog entry, you know about the heated debate started by Kevin Cormier. Many of you know I did not respond directly in his forum, but several unnamed board users did, asking serious and necessary questions of a board administrator apparently gone mad. In fact, his friend Chris attempted to defend Kevin's actions, to no avail. Trust me, it made for hilarious bedtime reading.
But this morning, while having my morning coffee, waiting for the car to warm up so I can pick up my boy, I surfed over to catch what the late night crowd might have said. The thread is gone. Wow. However, I know he's alienated many people over this idiotic campaign he's leading against me. In fact, I have email from people he knows, apologizing to me for his behavior.
One such email came from a former friend of Kevin's. This former pal claims that one afternoon, a few weeks ago, he went into Putnam St. Lanes to bowl with his son. However, that father/son time was ruined when Kevin couldn't shut up about my website! And trust me, this fellow isn't the only one who expressed this to me in email. I have a long list of well-wishers in my inbox who have said similar things.
At least I now know why I was heckled so much at the Mason's tournament. I was bowling with people who called Putnam St. Lanes home.
In conclusion, I've learned something from this sad saga. The candlepin community is fractured and sometimes filled with unexplained hatred. For a small community, that's not good.
Maybe Kevin will answer the question if I post it here...why did you do this? Why are you filled with so much hatred and anger? I'd truly like the honest, transparent answer. However, I'll never get it. And that's a shame.
