website work..

Throughout this little endeavor we call Candlepin Gallery, I've tried to make the pages load fast and look great. For the most part, that's worked well. However, in recent days I've noticed where the site has slowed down a bit. So, I've taken some of your suggestions.

Several site users have commented that loading only one background pattern would speed up the site considerably, and that switch was made this morning. Almost 100% of the pages on CG now have the same background pattern (sans the Rocky page).

However, the other big switch is the java event ticker. I've had two versions of it, both of which have pooped the proverbial bed pretty quickly. Therefore, I've given up on programming java for now. In its place is a Yahoo! Calendar that seems to work just marvelously. This switch has shortened the load time on the index page pretty significantly, making it look that much cleaner.

So, I'm listening...if you have a suggestion, don't be afraid to float it. If it's feasible, I'll put it to work!
