fighting through it all on the lanes

Thankfully, last night was the final week of the regular season at Airway. I'm so done with that house; I can't wait for the banquet to be finished so I can just walk away and end my association with them.

Our roll-offs are next week. The way it works is the winners of each of the 4 rounds are placed in class A, and the 4 other teams that did not win a round are in class B. Class A will pay out more in winnings than class B. At the beginning of the night, we needed to win just one game to finish no lower than second, clinching our spot in class A (the team who finished 1st this round has already won a round). In making my teammates aware of this fact, I was met with twice the usual apathy that I get when I express my desire to win. So, despite my bowling a 344 series, we lost all 8 points and the round. Granted, we can win in class B, but it doesn't pay as much.

Personally and on the whole, it was a good year for me. I finished with the triple crown in my bowlers' class, taking high average, single and series. Too bad I can only win one of those.

So far, for the fall, I've committed to moving my Monson team to Ware on Thursday nights. And my boy will be starting Roll-A-Way's youth league on Saturday mornings, too! So, I'd like to find one more night to bowl myself, and Wednesday looks like a good night to do that, since Kathleen will be taking a class. I'm done with weekend leagues...it's too much, and I know Kathleen would like to go out and do things on the weekends...especially when I return to full time work in the fall (thinking positively here...).

In other news, the impending doom of civilization is apparently upon us with the prediction of horrible storms for Sunday and Monday (not to mention the weather through Wednesday). Looks like I won't be driving up to Woburn this weekend. Drat...I wanted to get to that taping.

I wonder...if I get started right after hitting "enter," do you think I could have my arc done before tomorrow? I might be able to get up to Woburn if I do.
