nice weather for ducks
Rain again? Geez...must be spring! Thankfully, it held off for yesterdays walk off 3-run HR in New Britain. We're 6-7 as we head down to Norwich for a big series this weekend.
In other interesting news, apparently the same joker on that other forum likes to have some fun with me, too. According to the owner of the Bob Caliri forum, someone signed up his users in ours. Obviously done to make me look bad, someone has found that anonymous IPs work in Community Server, too. Therefore, we've opened up the forum to everyone, registered or not. I think this will work well, but if not, it'll just get closed off again. So, no worries on my part.
In other news, my fiancee has decided to forgive her college professor pal and move on. She's taking the "tableau erasa" stance (clean slate). Granted, that fits into my philosophy of, "let go, move on," but I'm wary of mixing with this woman (the professor, not my future wife) any further. At this point, I'm not exactly sure what is truth and what is fiction when it comes to her. Therefore, her presence makes me feel uncomfortable. I can forgive and forget, but I don't have to reconcile. That's not a requirement of my "let go, move on" theory.
I find it interesting, when it comes to today's society, that one can just--off the cuff--say just about anything one wants and get away with it! As a people, we are indeed growing a much thinner skin as of late. But we're also growing increasingly bold in with our competitive side, maybe in an effort to make sure our plumage is puffed out further than our neighbor's. This is not a good thing.
Personally, I try to temper my words with wisdom. And yes, I fail more often than not. But I can absolutely say I don't just utter each and every thought on my mind, making sure my ego is protected from being battered at all costs. I attempt to think through my words...even as I'm bowling. In fact, I take a good amount of ribbing from my teammates and opponents for my refusal to curse or trash talk on the lanes. I like to take the "act like you've been there before" approach. And I also don't like to make myself sound like I'm not so bright.
Having said that, off to my full time job...looking for a full time job. LOL Let's hope the rain passes quickly!
