Nice win last night
The weather finally broke for us! Woohoo! We were able to get out there last night, under the stars and the lights, to take on the CT Defenders. I can't stand that franchise. They've been trying to promote themselves as "Connecticut's Hometown Team" for two years now, and they just can't put any fannies in the seats. And somehow, they got the EL All-Star Game this year!
I'm very fearful that the game is going to be, as is the custom with Norwich, under-promoted, bungled and generally a flop. When we had it a few years ago, we banged out the park with nearly 8,000 fans! I'm betting Norwich will get close to 4,000...with the walk up crowd that night. When will they ever leave CT?
Nonetheless, we beat 'em 5-4. Brock Peterson, 1B, hit a mammoth HR. And Norwich's Stephen Holm countered with a shot off the milk bottle in LCF. The only problem with the night was there wasn't a ton of people in the stands. That's the way it goes in April.
Bowling night is tonight. The roll-offs are here. I'd like to take the Class B championship, but with my team...I don't think it's possible. So, I'll just bowl my game and let the chips fall where they may.
If you're not doing anything this weekend, come on out to New Britain Stadium. This weekend is going to be fabulous, weather-wise, so you'll have a great time. Stop by the seating area behind home plate...that's where I'll be!
LET'S GO ROCK CATS!
