CT is just weird sometimes
Each time I get on the highways in CT, I'm amazed. Today, was no exception.
My future bride asked me to stop by CCSU to pick up a test she recently took in her statistics class. Since I had to stop by the Rock Cats' office, I agreed to do so. That wasn't the tough part. The tough part was getting out of Hartford on the way home.
For no apparent reason, other than to sit on I-84, traffic came to a screeching halt at the Hartford city line. No accidents, no lane closures, no problems with the highway. The traffic just stopped...cold...for the better part of 30 minutes. Granted, we'd inch a bit every so often. But in that half hour, I moved no more than a quarter mile. Honestly, is there any reason for this? No!
The highways down here in the Land of Steady Habits are so horrible, it's beyond comprehension. That's why I tend to do my best to find alternate ways to get to where I have to be (sans my stupid decision to take the highway today). There's no reason for all the traffic problems in this state. Put you car in drive and go, folks. Don't worry about what's going on over on the other side of the road, just drive!
Then again, we have virtually non-existent mass transit here. Heaven forbid we get out of our cars and on a bus!
Oh well, I'm home...in one piece. Bring on the weekend!
