"transmission will be out for an undetermined amount of time..."

Of course no one can see this blog so it doesn't really matter what I say. I'm the Lord Jesus Christ. I think I'll go get drunk and beat up some midgets. Now if you're really paying attention, you'd know that's a paraphrase of a quote from one of my favorite television shows, "Family Guy." Certainly the website outage isn't going to persuade me to go beat up a midget...although a webhost or two just might go down, that's for sure.

We've recently gone past our 1-year anniversary with CG, and in doing so renewed the contract with the webhost and asked to be moved to a newer, faster server. And while that request was granted, your humble webmaster has found that on the internet, one should be careful of what one wishes for. It seems as though the move only served to blow up the site, corrupting many pages and ruining many links. Thankfully not one picture was lost. However, recoding over 250 MB of pages and checking over 12,500 files has its downside...it's a lengthy and tedious process. Therefore, please be patient. I'm sure the site won't be down as long as Quahog's television transmission. But I'm not restoring it until I'm 150% satisfied that it's 1000% perfect.

In other news, preparations for the wedding are going along smoothly. We've set the date with the church...July 19, 2008. It's now a matter of everything falling into place. We've accomplished a lot in a short amount of time, too. So far, we've chosen a venue (although we have to "sell it" to my future FIL); K has a wedding dress, we have a DJ, caterer, wedding cake, photographer; we've chosen our wedding party (although I plan on adding one more person to my side of the altar); begun the wedding registry; and we've settled on a honeymoon destination. I'm sure there's a few other things we've done that I've left out, but we're on a big roll with all this planning...so we feel good.

Nice week for me on the lanes, with a fabulous 334 on lanes 1 and 2 of Roll-A-Way on Wednesday. I followed it up with a 339 the very next night. I'll certainly take a 112 average for a week's worth of bowling! Now, to keep those numbers going!

I've noticed where the impending holiday has begun to escalate the average person's temperment...especially on the roadways. For example, when driving into a store last night, I was in a left hand turning lane--waiting for the light to go green. The nice man behind me, who was seemingly angry and in a terrible hurry, kept sounding his horn in an effort to get me to run the red light. My refusal to place myself into oncoming traffic seemed to upset him as when the light went green, he sped around me on my left...hurdling his little Toyota into the intersection where he promptly hit a rather large Hummer at an opposing stop light. It looked like an ugly wreck, with the driver's side of the little Toyota pushed in fairly hard, but I really had no sympathy for him. While I'm sorry he hurt himself, and I do honestly hope he's okay, I feel that it's his own damn fault. He was the stupid one who just had to get around me at a high rate of speed!

The moral of the story...be patient! The extra few seconds you spare when you're speeding around the roads will only serve to come back and haunt you as time goes on. It's not worth it...stay safe!

The CT weather forecast has snow on tap for tomorrow and Monday. Wow...already?

So, I'll do my best to keep ya posted on CG's triumphant return to the 'net. But thanks for all the suggestions on how to fix it and get it going again. Be well...see ya very soon!
