Rock n Bowl 2007...a huge success!!!!
What a great day at Rock n Bowl 2007 in Haverhill. I love getting up to Pilgrim Lanes any chance I can get, but to get involved with this event was just marvelous. Bart, Mary-Lynn and Andrew rolled out the red carpet for me, Matthew and Kathleen, that's for sure.
What a thrill to be introduced with and bowl alongside Peter Flynn, Craig Holbrook, Steve Renaud, Mike McIntosh, Gene Gallagher, etc., etc., etc...the list just goes on and on. Jeff Surette and Mr. Aruba, Skip Easterbrooks were there today, too. A shout out to Angela Palmer, who was in my instructor's class, too! It was great to see her as well.
I'd like to thank all the kids in the ICYBA, too. They were just great...what a fine bunch of young people Pilgrim Lanes is blessed with. Each one was a credit to candlepin bowling.
Watch out for David Godwin, everyone! If you haven't heard about this kid, or seen him bowl on Comcast...oh, man what you're missing! This kid crashes the pins with each ball, and I think we've got another Jeff Surette on our hands! He's been taught well, that's for sure.
Mike Morin won the big grudge match, even after Mary-Lynn and I heckled him with, "you need a mark!" The man has nerves of steel! But when does he get his all expense paid trip to Methuen, anyway?
In "Strikes for Bucks," I blew 'em all down with my very first ball, coming close the other two times. In fact, I was the second one to bowl a strike, coming after Gene Gallagher. Talk about awesome...to see all ten go down like that...wow.
I could go on about the day in general, but just go take a look at the pictures that have been posted at CG...and I'm sure there will be more on the ICYBA website very soon.
We're already looking forward to 2008!!!
