Never underestimate the power of stupid people...in groups!

And trust me, they all showed up today at the ballpark.  Interestingly, the stupid ones were the teachers.

During the intermission between games one and two, I was dressed down by a teacher who thought it was my fault that the players didn't come out of the dugout to sign autographs for her group.  Gee, you don't think they have to get ready for game two, do you?  Upon asking her that question, her reply was, "no."

So, I asked her if she thought it would be appropriate if someone marched into her classroom, without permission...interrupted her lesson, disrupted her class and made a general nuisance of him or herself.  Her reply was, "I always accommodate anyone who enters my room."  Yeah, right lady.  When I told her that I have a teaching license and that doesn't happen in real life, nor has it ever happened in my classroom, she met me with a bewildered look and just walked away.  She actually couldn't fathom being told, "no."

Yet we wonder where the kids get their sense of entitlement!  It's not hard, since they see it on a regular basis with their parents, teachers, friends, ancillary family members, etc.  If we, as adults...in charge...act as if we're entitled to everything, the kids are going to pick up on that and do the same thing.  Why is it so hard to teach a child the meaning of, "no" these days?  Simple...it's easier to give that child what he or she wants so that we can get on with our life.  That's not how I do business, that's for sure.

Nonetheless, the Rock Cats swept a double header.  Now, if only Minnesota could get back on track.

Bowling night tonight.  Hopefully, another good week.
