That's kickin' your ass!
I heard that several times last night. And it seemed to come from the pins on lanes 1 & 2! I walked out with a 291, losing 3 pins off my average and shaking my head. What is it with those two lanes that makes life so damn difficult, anyway? But Shoebag with the big 426 on lane 14...wow! I can't wait to get on that side of the house!
I'd really like to know why it's taking so damned long for me to get a contract. I vacillate between being really angry about it and really "gung ho" about the job search. It's frustrating. I have excellent references. I interview quite well. I have a good background. And I can demonstrate my ability to anyone who'd like to see. But sometimes I feel as though I'm being discriminated against for whatever reason. I won't start any horrible internet firestorms with my theories, but suffice it to say I'm starting to get a vibe from the principals and educators with whom I come into contact. I've been researching opinions on this vibe (and my own viewpoint), so I'll be interested to see what I turn up.
This inability to get a contract is really holding up life in general. We've got so many plans and we really can't get started without me in a classroom. We'd like to start planning a wedding, buy a house, start a family, etc. Essentially...we want to get on with our lives! Yet we can't...we're in this holding pattern of hoping for an interview, getting an interview and waiting to see if I get the job.
So, I wax poetic about the struggle to find my new classroom, yet thinking that this is really starting to get old. Isn't there anyone out there who'd like to have a guy like me as a teacher?
Nevertheless, we persevere. I'm hanging in there.
Anyone know the date gas will finally come back down to realistic prices? Geez! Granted it's not my God-given right to have $1.50/gallon gas, but this is outrageous. And with the record oil company profits, it sure looks like price gouging to me. I'd assume this will go on until January of 2009 when GHWB will be out of office. I guess we'll have to wait and see. $3.32/gallon? That's nuts.
Happy Memorial Day everyone. Enjoy your cookout!
