great day at the taping!
Finally, I have come back to Woburn! Yeah, I really do sound like a pro wrestler, don't I? Too funny. Nevertheless, I did get back to Woburn yesterday to see the final Candlepin Challenge taping of the year. And don't worry, Dan. I won't reveal who won and lost here. I'm not that kind of guy!
Every once in awhile, I get taken aback by just how many people read this blog. And yesterday was no exception. I'd like to take a moment to thank John Holt for the kind words and encouragement as he'd mentioned to me that he's been rooting for me to get a job. John, what you said yesterday meant a lot. Thanks. I'm trying to stay positive, but it's become horribly difficult. But your words were certainly heeded.
The taping was great fun, the bowling was excellent...and I'm sure you're going to be as excited as the gallery was. DO NOT MISS THIS SHOW.
After the taping, we drove back to Roll-A-Way Lanes in Ware to stop and see my pal, Fast Al. My son and I got a couple of games in, not to mention hanging with Al and his son for awhile. But sadly, we had to trek back to CT to get my boy home for the night. It was a fun day, and my son really appreciated Al rolling out the red carpet for us. Thanks, man.
In other news, I'm still stuck for this coming Saturday. I've found that the number of people that were to attend the party I nixed was upwards of 30!!! Way too big. Thank goodness I found out and canned it. But my bride to be refuses to cancel the family's plans, so they're all going to be there. And I'm sure I get to answer the, "why didn't you want the party" questions over and over. However, I'm going to do my best to find a place to work that will be out of sight and mind. I don't want the fanfare, questions or anything else.
What is the most dismaying part of this is the other game staff employees and many front office types are looking at me, asking themselves and each other why Kathleen or I would be entited to 17 FREE tickets. It's still not fair to the others who won't get that type of preferred treatment, and I didn't want it in the first place. I'm still very angry about this. My GM won't heed my wishes, and neither will my bride to be. And if some sort of sneaky rememberence of my birthday comes up, I'll simply blow up.
So, let's all hope the game is the story this coming Saturday. I know I certainly don't want to the be story. I just wish my boss and fiancee could see that.
