nice night on the lanes
So last night was a nice night on the lanes; throwing a 328 makes me feel pretty good. I can see where the bowling is coming along just fine, thank you. My ball tracks to the headpin far more often than ever, and I'm able to pick up spares and make better decisions on where to try to put the ball. I think that's part and parcel to the fact that I'm bowling in a new house now. I can tell a marked difference in the way the ball travels at Roll-A-Way Lanes (there's no sliding or unpredictable movement from oil buildup such as what was happening at Airway). And the lighting is far better in Ware, making for better sight lines (you'd be surprised how the success of your ball changes in dimly lit houses). Therefore, I'm pretty happy with my progress so far this summer...hopefully, that'll continue!
Unfortunately, I think I'm going to have to retire the green set of Comanche bowling balls I have. One of them exploded at the plug last night (see the picture above...I think you can find where the damage is), so it has a hole in it and a pretty large chip, too. Yeah, I know...those balls aren't the greatest in the world. But I like the way they look and I think I get good action with them. Oh well, I'll have to try my Vipers out when I get 'em back from Paramount.
Nice work by Schill yesterday, eh? Man, I thought he had the no hitter. Two down in the 9th and former Minnesota Twin Shannon Stewart gets a single. The one time I didn't want to see a former Twin do well was that spot...drat. Oh well, Curt stopped the slide and got our Sox back on track. Let's rip off 8 or 10 in a row!!
Hopefully, candlepin's favorite minor league baseball team (the Rock Cats, of course) will have a good weekend vs. the Bowie Baysox (Orioles). I'm hoping to sneak up on Trenton, and start to make this division a race. That would be fun! But it's been a fun season so far, winning more than we're losing. Therefore, no complaints here.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. Get out there and enjoy it!
