on my own for awhile...

So, since the future wife decided to visit her twin sister in NC, I've been on my own since this past Thursday. Jokingly, I told my friends in Ware I'd be finding ways to get myself in trouble this weekend...and well, I haven't. I'm not that bright...nor am I that industrious. I'm really just a boring sort of guy. Hell, the highlight of my day came when I was able to grill a nice, big T-bone for dinner. Wheeee!!! Brucie knows how to live, doesn't he?

However, I wanted to get out this afternoon, and decided to go work on my bowling a bit. I had a pretty poor night on Thursday, and I chalked it up to being over tired (having to get up at 0430 to see Kathleen off) and having my mechanics, for some reason, become all screwed up. So, I decided to try a new house and bowl a few games in relative anonymity, hoping I didn't get recognized by anyone who has viewed CG. And before I get an angry email calling me conceited, let me remind you I've posted pictures of myself here--unfortunately, you guys know what I look like (and I'd like to apologize if any of you have suffered any sort of permanent injury as a result of viewing pictures of me...but this is my standard disclaimer--I'm not responsible! LOL).

So, I decided to throw a few games in Worcester, as it's relatively close to my home and an easy place for me to navigate. Happily, I arrived at Colonial Bowl and got hooked up with a lane. The old place is really rather nice, with lounge tables and plenty of snack machines, new carpet, well taken care of fixtures and plenty of parking. There's 24 lanes in this center, and they looked as though they'd been resurfaced recently. The approaches, however, we the slickest I've ever bowled upon...slicker than those at Roll-A-Way! Wow!

I threw my four games, worked on my mechanics and the placement of the ball and decided to call it a day. Besides, the house manager was trying to save a few bucks by not turning the air conditioning on, so I was a bit sweaty! Hopefully, my attention to detail and approach will get me in the right frame of mind for the final two weeks of the summer season.

The return trip I took down route 9 was nice...seeing places I hadn't seen in years. All in all, a relaxing day...nobody was able to get in touch with me and I was able to enjoy myself in quiet reflection of all that surrounds me.

I won't bore you with all the things that crossed my middle aged mind as I drove around, but I know I've got a few things to "chew on" as I wander through the rest of the summer. I'm sure I'll be discussing a few of those thoughts here as I really cement my thinking...you'll just have to wait and see what comes up, won't you?

Gee, I wonder where my anonymous friend has been lately. I'm rather enjoying the debate, and he/she goes and takes it away from me for an extended period? Not fair! Come out, come out wherever you are!
