splish, splash, I took a bath...at the ballpark!
So, we tried to play a DH today vs. Portland. Didn't work out very well, but we had fun. The rain began in the 6th inning of game one and didn't stop. Thankfully, our crack umpiring crew got religion, realizing it wasn't letting up. That's when we saw the signal for, as I like to put it, "good night, game over, drive home safely." Nonetheless, we had fun getting wet and celebrating July 4...not to mention watching several new citizens take the oath of citizenship. That was very cool. Too bad we lost the one game we played, 4-2.
The rain out did give us a chance to have a hot dinner at Stew Leonard's, which made life good. And since tomorrow night is bowling night, I'm starting to get cranked up already. I look forward to it each week.
Not long until the EL All Star Game, too. If you have Comcast Cable, watch the game next Wednesday. Take a good look for our mascot, Rocky. Maybe you'll be able to guess who's playing him that evening? I'll give you a hint...the guy in the suit bowls candlepin. :) Hmmm...I wonder who that might be!
