back in the saddle again...

So, a nice night at the old bowling center…that’s for sure. I was hittin’ ‘em hard last night, ending the evening with a 365. And while I was very pleased with the outcome of the match (we took all 6 points), I was also intrigued by the adjustments I made in my game.

I wear Dexter SSTs on the lanes. And over the past couple of weeks, I’ve noticed where my balance has been way off…resulting in an unsteady slide and finish to my game. In my opinion, and the opinion of one of my teammates, it was my finish that was creating the downdraft in my scores. Therefore as I tested the lanes last night, I found them to be similar to an ice rink. Apparently it was time to change the slide pad on my shoes. And in doing so, it would seem that my balance and control returned very quickly. The marked difference in the way I finished my throws was dramatic. Let’s hope we can carry that improvement over to this coming week.

Early preparations for the wedding (gosh, I love saying that) are going well. The guest list got lengthy, that’s for sure! We’re beginning the process of looking at venues, and will be hopefully making a decision in the next couple of weeks. Then again, I should probably contact the minister of our church, eh?

A friend of mine was just informed that her father was involved in a work accident that has him seriously injured. Please pray for my pal, C.L. We’re all hoping her father pulls through and recovers 100%.

Oh, and Monday is Veteran’s Day. Thank a vet. Do it…don’t think about it.

Not much else going on here in the Nutmeg State. There’s a Comcast taping on Sunday, but I will unfortunately be unable to go. Therefore, get loud for me when you get up there, would you?
