and so it goes...

Interestingly, I've been contacted by the original poster in regards to last week's "juicing" incident at that well known candlepin center in W. MA. This bowler has been very forthcoming with several interesting bits of information concerning the event, and it's become evident to me that this person has immense credibility. Now remember, this poster has not covered up his IP address, so this bowler cannot be lumped into the "anonymous" category. Please note, I am going out of my way to use gender neutral language in an effort to conceal this bowler's identity.

As points of reference, this bowler has told me that the first fear is to speak out while using a real name. The site user tells me that the fear is of retribution...as this bowler knows what has happened to me in the past. Said bowler also believes the teams on the lanes in question did not ask to have the lanes "juiced" but cannot be certain. Also, it's known that an owner of the center discovered the juice after several attempts at denial by that center's other owner. Apparently, the pins flew noticably faster on these lanes, and other members of the league were talking about it. I wonder, did a couple of bowlers on those two lanes need some help with averages that night?

Unfortunately, the controversy goes back to one or two central figures, who are no longer credible in my eyes.

It's sad to see things like this come about. I'm sure it's going to have an effect on league participation next year as this center isn't really located in a bustling metropolis...so people talk. However, I'd love to be a fly on the wall this week; I'm sure some tongues are going to be wagging.

How bizarre, eh?
