wow, it's been a long time, eh?
Geez, I haven't even had the time to look at this blog since the end of July? Are you kidding me? Wow.
Summer has gone by so very quickly...I'm staring the new school year right square in the face, and I just don't like it. Happily, with the new school year comes a new bowling season--and that's a very good thing. It's always nice to reconnect with teammates and REAL friends, getting back on the lanes and hearing all that noise that comes with the game. There's nothing like hearing the sound of the pins falling, the ball rolling down the lanes, the yelling for strikes and spares ("get ovah!!!!"), etc. I'm looking forward to it, that's for sure.
Contributing to the summer's all too quick demise was the fact that we packed a ton of activity into this summer's days. A wedding, a honeymoon, two other vacations, a summer bowling league...not to mention house hunting...has kept us extremely busy. I've done my best to answer emails and keep this website up to the quality that it's become famous for, but it's been difficult. Thankfully, I'll be able to have the time necessary to gear up for the fall in the coming days. Yes, friends, things on this end are settling down; married life is treating both of us very well (sans the monsoons that contributed to us passing on the Rod Stewart concert last night...LOL), and we are very grateful for everything we've experienced this summer.
So, what's next for this intrepid bowler/father/blogger/husband/teacher (not necessarily in that order)? Well, for starters, my new bride and I have discussed sending me back to school for my next degree and eventual certification for middle school education. It's something I've tossed around for a while, and the near future may bring my return to the student life. Scary! And the CG home offices will soon move--if our bid on our new home is successful. Oh yeah, and we may want children, too...not to mention the fact that my son enters grade 5 in the fall. And my usual two fall leagues begin right after Labor Day. So, I may be entering "old married life," but I'm not letting myself get old, nor am I slowing down.
Look for me at a few Candlepin Challenge tapings in the coming months. I love going up there to see the action...and no, you won't get me to post spoilers here (Dan Murphy would kill me). And the ICYBA Rock n Bowl is always on my schedule, too! Possibly a run at a spot on the WNECA tour is in my plans this fall, so stay tuned for that.
All in all, this website and blog will be ramping up again in the near future...so stay tuned.
Don't forget, if your tournament or organization would like to be publicized here at CG, contact us today so we may post your information. It's free!
